What are Technical Ceramics?

Technical ceramics are nonmetallic and inorganic ceramics, classified into three categories – oxides, non-oxides, and composite materials. Oxide ceramics includes alumina, beryllia, ceria, and zirconia, while non-oxides contain carbides, borides, nitrides, and silicide. Composite materials are a combination of oxide and non-oxide ceramics. These materials tend to retain their different properties depending on end use applications.
