Psychology Education

All degrees of education in psychology (bachelor, master and PhD) are offered by several public universities (free of charge). These are: Charles University, Prague (Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Education); Masaryk University, Brno (Faculty of Social Studies; Faculty of Arts), Palacký University, Olomouc (Faculty of Arts). Various other universities offer some education in psychology as well (e.g. faculties of education or sport).

Entry exams are miscellaneous: general knowledge “Scio tests”; special tests including mix of psychology, biology, general knowledge and oral examination. All programmes have to be accredited by the Accreditation Commission CR. There are not many job opportunities for bachelors. The majority of students have master degree and work as school psychologists, personnel psychologist, counsellors, clinical psychologists, in non-profit organizations, at universities. Many students find their job outside psychology or in related fields (education, social work).
